In the Thirteenth Century, the Kings of France established their Winter Residence in the milder climate of the lush Loire Valley. There, on the fertile banks of the Rivers Loire and Cher, they planted vines of great character. These became the favorite wines of the Royal Court of France...
Brought together by a river often described as "royal", (and it would justify the term royal even if the Kings of France hadn't loved to dwell along its shores), the country of the Loire Valley is bathed by a unique light resulting from the subtle marriage of water and sky and that together are producing what everyone calls: "The Garden of France". Garden of France, royal residence, land of the arts, cradle of the Renaissance, this region is dedicated to balance, harmony and elegance.
The Wines of Kings!
It is also the source of a vast diversity of wines, from the soft and mellow whites of Vouvray's Chenin Blanc, to the dry fruity tang of Sancerre's Sauvignon, and not forgetting the rich ruby reds of Touraine.
